A-Z Guide to your Perfect Wedding: D is for…

THE DRESS
Perhaps the most important part of every brides wedding is her dress. It’s what most women have dreamed about since they were a little girl, waltzing around their bedroom with a pillowcase on their head. It’s easy to get carried away when bridal dress shopping so remember to set a realistic budget and stick to it. Go with your girls and your mum and make a day of it, trying on lots of different styles and accessories so you know what suits you. Even if you have a vision in your head about the style of dress you think you want you’ll be surprised at how different the one you end up with is from your initial ‘dream dress’ – you’ve seen ‘Don’t tell the Bride’!

Most bridal shops would recommend choosing your dress approximately 6 months to a year ahead of your big day as this allows enough time for dress fittings and alterations. Again think about the time of year you are getting married and whether you are going to be inside or outside for a large chunk of the day, you want to be as comfortable as possible whilst remaining utterly radiant of course!

Other D’s to consider: Destination Wedding – going abroad is often a lot cheaper for the couple however it may mean that less guests can attend due to affordability. Delegating – don’t be afraid to lean on your family and bridal party for support, their role after all is to help the couple and most would be more than happy to help.
