SPEECHES
Traditionally it’s the men who give a speech, those being the Father of the Bride, the Groom and the Best Man but that’s not to say the Bride can’t give one too if she feels she would like to. Typically the Father’s speech is one of sentiment about his beloved daughter as she grew up and kind words about her new husband and then it’s the Grooms chance to compliment his new wife, thank all the guests and present the bridal party with thank you gifts. It then falls upon the Best Man to unleash his inner comedian and (usually) embarrass the groom in a way that is funny but without being too offensive (no easy feat!) – remembering that there is likely to be grandparents and small children present.
