Planning a wedding can be a lot of work, but it should also provide you and your future husband or wife with a lot of fun and satisfaction too. One of the most important aspects of any wedding is the wedding table decorations. From bridal and bridesmaids’ bouquets through to floral decorations for the wedding reception, all are as important as one another. Most guests love unusual wedding centrepieces as they create such good talking points. So, if you want your wedding reception to stick in the minds of your guests, then spend some time thinking about great table centrepieces for the tables at your wedding reception.
Colour themed centrepieces
If you already have a central colour scheme in your wedding decoration plans then why not carry the same colours through to the centrepieces on the tables at the reception. If you are both patriotic then you might want to consider red, white and blue as the colour scheme for your wedding attire and for your flower arrangements. Or, maybe you are both huge fans of the same sports team? If so, you can kit the venue out accordingly. A growing number of florists now offer a whole range of displays for you to choose from and many of them are more than willing to work with you to help you come up with floral designs of your own.
Seasonal centrepieces
If you are planning a wedding towards the end of October then why not think about Halloween themed centrepieces. Try seasonal flowers, tastefully arranged in a hollowed out pumpkin and surrounded by small, lit candles – this works especially well if you are having an evening reception.
Thinking about a Winter wedding? Choose red and white seasonal blooms with frosting around the edges of the vases. Alternatively, you could have a floral arrangement set within a yuletide log. Children love Christmas and your younger guests would definitely appreciate centrepieces that include Santa’s sleigh. You could even use pine cones and seasonal berries, along with the flowers, to make your christmas table settings even more Christmassy.
Try simplicity
One of the problems that many think common to the modern world is the complicated nature of existence and you may be among those people who want a great, memorable wedding, but want things to be elegant and simple. One of the great things about flowers is that they can stand on their own. A single flower is simplicity itself, but if you want something different that looks simple it may involve a lot of careful planning.
Choose colours that either clash or complement each other, you might want to consider having flowers interlacing around the actual floral centrepiece. Something along the lines of a daisy chain that encircles a crystal vase full of delicately coloured blooms. Use your imagination; it’s your wedding day, and what matters most is that you are satisfied with things, and that you and your future spouse think that your wedding centrepieces look great.
